Rokhaya Pouye Ndiaye known as Aya Pouye , born onJanuary 10, 1958 in France, is a Senegalese basketball player and leader.
She made her debut at AS Bopp Basket Club with which she won several titles of champion of Senegal. She also played in a club at Cavigal Nice Sports Basket.
With the Senegalese women’s basketball team, which she joined in 1974 at the age of 16, she was African champion in 1974 (where she was elected MVP), 1977, 1979, 1981 and 1984 and medalist gold at the African Games in 1978. She also participated in the World Championships in 1975 and 1979. She concluded her sports career in 1989.
President of AS Bopp, she is also president of the association of former international basketball players of Senegal, vice-president of the Senegalese basketball Federation since 2005, commissioner of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 2010, member of the FIBA Africa Women’s Commission until 2013. She was elected President of FIBA Zone II in April 2013.
